PETRONAS is seeking for technology solution for chloride speciation (inorganic and organic) quantitative measurement in crude oil and hydrocarbon process stream for technology chloride removal development.

PETRONAS is proud to announce AmSpec Inspection Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“AmSpec”) as the winner of Technology Challenge 17 (“TC17”).
The novelty of the technology lies in its capability to conduct speciation of both organic and inorganic chlorides for targeted and untargeted species of light and medium distillate hydrocarbons. The technology could be enhanced for speciation of organic and inorganic chlorides for targeted and untargeted species from light to heavy distillates, enabling direct injection and comprehensive mapping from the upstream to downstream liquid hydrocarbon value chain. This solution could be integrated with chloride removal technology and potentially serve as a standard test method for comprehensive chloride mapping in oil and gas application.
