One of the world’s top gas discoveries in 2019, the Lang Lebah discovery is located offshore Sarawak with approximately 5 trillion cubic feet of gas in place, highlighting just how prolific Malaysia’s basins are, with potentially more discoveries to come.

The remarkable discovery also indicates significant untapped exploration potential in the deeper play that may share the same hydrocarbon kitchen with Lang Lebah.

Located in Block SK410B Production Sharing Contract (SK410B PSC), in the Central Luconia province, offshore Sarawak, the Lang Lebah well’s total well depth was at 3881 meters, with proven 450 meters of net gas pay in the Middle Miocene Cycle IV/V Carbonate play. The well was tested and flowed at 41 million cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD). An appraisal drilling campaign is expected to take place in the middle of 2020 in order to confirm the upside potential and to accelerate the development program.

The SK410B PSC is located approximately 90 kilometers offshore Sarawak and is operated by PTTEP HK Offshore Limited (PTTEP) with partners, KUFPEC Malaysia (SK-410B) Limited (KUFPEC) and PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. (PCSB).
