PETRONAS GEOSCIENCE CENTRE (PGSC), formerly known as PETRONAS Geo-Sample Centre is located in Ulu Klang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Designated as a one-stop centre for physical data submitted by Petroleum Arrangement Contractors (PACs), Malaysia’s Exploration & Production (E&P) data are stored and managed effectively, making the data available and accessible to users for the benefit of the industry and nation.
The operation of the facility is now beyond managing geo-sample data with its alignment to the National Data Repository (NDR) aspiration towards elevating the facility as a modern and sustainable NDR Facility. Its aspiration is to become a centre of excellence in managing Geoscience Data & Knowledge for PETRONAS’ Upstream business and supporting national interests.
After more than 10 years in operation, PGSC has evolved from a physical data warehouse to a centre with intelligent building capabilities that enable new features such as core sample digitisation, freezer room for fluid samples storage, microscope room for geo-samples analysis and many more.
