Overview of PETRONAS myPROdata
PETRONAS Malaysia Petroleum Resources Opportunities Data portal (myPROdata) is a one-stop data centre introduced by PETRONAS to provide the industry, greater data access and transparency.
Through PETRONAS myPROdata, Malaysia’s Exploration and Production (E&P) data is not only accessible to Petroleum Arrangement Contractors (PAC) and O&G companies but also to solution partners, researchers and academia.
PETRONAS myPROdata delivers enhanced access to Malaysia's E&P data as well as a broad view of all available asset opportunities, anytime and anywhere. This then enables a comprehensive and timely evaluation, which could lead to a potential investment decision. PETRONAS myPROdata is also expected to foster knowledge and expertise sharing towards innovative solutions.
The platform provides a simple process and workflow for users to access, request, and transfer data.
The available features are:
- Smart Viewer – Allows users to visualise spatial data and view geographic information system (GIS) and non-GIS data.
- Smart Data Catalog – Allows users to search and browse the data and files.
- Data Visualisation – Allows users to view the seismic cross section, wells, and key horizons.
- Download Manager – Allows users to download the data and files from PETRONAS myPROdata.
Data in PETRONAS myPROdata
PETRONAS myPROdata consists of Malaysia (E&P) technical data for exploration blocks, Discovered Resource Opportunities (DRO) and producing fields as described below;
- Subsurface data – data related to earth science and engineering such as geology, geophysics, seismic, petrophysics, reservoir engineering and well drilling
- Surface data – data related to field production to demonstrate reservoirs productivity and any data related to infrastructure that could provide understanding of available facilities, hubs, pipelines etc., for field development and synergy.
PETRONAS myPROdata provides five access/subscription levels with different data entitlements;
- Basic – The user has a “view-only” access. General information on Malaysia open blocks and DRO, regional geology and cultural data, and field, well, or block metadata are all included in the data entitlement. User will be able to preview the Standard and Premium access/subscription level data listings which could help user to decide on the suitable subscription level.
- Standard – The user has full access to the entitled data (view and download). Data entitlement includes the Basic access/subscription level data and data related to the open blocks and DRO. The data type includes raw data, processed data and technical reports. Seismic data acquired more than ten (10) years ago will be made available for this level at the user’s request.
- Premium – The user has full access to the entitled data (view and download). Data entitlement includes the Basic and Standard access/subscription level data and data from active PSC blocks or fields. The data type includes raw and processed data, technical reports and some interpreted data. Seismic data acquired more than four(4) years ago will be made available for this level at the user’s request.
- Academia – The data entitlement is subject to the following two categories:
- Academia General (Undergraduate and Postgraduate) – This access level provides universities with selected data sets to be used as teaching material (e.g., vintage data and decommissioned fields).
- Academia Research/Projects – This access level is entitled to the data for the research/study purposes upon request through the system. The request must include the project proposal, outlining the study's objectives, scope of work, deliverables, and timeline. This will be subject to PETRONAS approval.
- Bid Round – User has full access to the entitled data (view and download) and there are two entry levels for this access:
- Malaysia Bid Round (MBR) - The data entitlement includes all data related to the offerings.
- Technical study – This allows access to data related to the opportunities offered for study during MBR period (if it is applicable). The interested companies/researchers are required to submit the project proposal which consists of study objectives, work scope, deliverables and schedule and it will subject to PETRONAS' approval.
Yes, all subscription levels (except Basic) can use the "Download Manager" function to download the data listed in the "SmartData Catalog" - subjected to user data entitlement.
In general, the user shall be able to download the technical reports and well data directly from the system. For seismic 2D/3D files or any data not available for download, the user can request the file via download manager. The data will be sent to the user via email using an encrypted and secure link.
No, there is not limit for users to download data. For the first 5Tb PETRONAS offer data download allowance per account. Additional data over 5TB, subscribers will be charged with an additional fee of approximately USD 0.12 per gigabyte of data volume.
The following is the data list for Exploration;
