Diversity & Inclusion (D&I)
is about all of us progressing in the world together.

PETRONAS believes in unity through diversity whereby we respect and value each other’s differences yet come together as one. We know through experience that diverse ideas, views, and backgrounds create a more progressive and creative work environment that delivers better outcome.

Our D&I agenda focus on four areas namely Gender, Age, Multinational, and Culture.

 

 

Gender

PETRONAS excels in promoting gender diversity, boosting its performance and serving as an inspiration to others. The organisation paves the way for a future where everyone can flourish, irrespective of gender.

As of 2023, women make up 29% of PETRONAS’ total workforce and 31% of its senior leadership roles. The PETRONAS Leading Women Network (PLWN), an association within the organisation aims to empower the women workforce grow professionally across the business and operations.

Age

PETRONAS values age diversity as part of its commitment to creating an inclusive and dynamic work environment. Approximately 45% of PETRONAS’ total workforce is aged 35 years and below.

The PETRONAS Young Professionals Club (YPC) is an initiative designed to provide a platform for young professionals within PETRONAS to expand their network and access development opportunities. This club aims to foster professional growth, helping young employees to thrive in their careers.

Multinational

Our team is now more culturally diverse than ever, comprising over 100 nationalities.

Across our global operations, the majority of our management positions are held by members of their respective local communities.

Culture

We recognise that a psychologically safe workplace not only nurtures individual well-being but also fuels innovation, collaboration, and overall organisational success.

We continuously educate our leaders to be intentionally inclusive, ensuring that all talents feel valued, respected, and belonged.

The PETRONAS Organisational Culture Survey (POCS) provides management with valuable insights from employees, aligning with our commitment to fostering talent and supporting career growth within a safe environment.

Persons with Disabilities (PWD)

PETRONAS is committed to enhance diversity and inclusivity practices within its workforce, creating an intentionally inclusive and conducive work environment including the employment of neurodivergent individuals and persons with disabilities (PWD).

We have also been consistently reviewing and enhancing our end-to-end talent journey to ensure we provide equitable support for PWD and neurodiverse talents to progress and thrive in the work environment.
