PETRONAS to Supply Car Care Products to the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team

Kuala Lumpur, 21 February 2017 – PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) has announced that it will now supply PETRONAS Durance car care products to the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team to help protect and ensure excellent visual presentation of the Silver Arrows.

PETRONAS Durance is a premium range of car grooming products that include cockpit cleaner, fast wax, and car polish specially developed and manufactured by PLI’s division, Arexons, at its Cernusco sul Naviglio plant, near Milan, Italy.

“Formula One is about performance and speed; but it’s also about the quest for perfection based on hard work and attention to detail. It is this pursuit that inspired us to develop the PETRONAS Durance range of products for the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team cars and support fleet,” said Domenico Ciaglia, CEO of Arexons.

As a title and technical partner, PETRONAS collaborates closely with the Silver Arrows’ works team to develop PETRONAS Fluid Tehnology Solutions (FTS), an intelligent approach to fluid requirements that maximize performance through tailor-made product offerings and expert services.

The supply of PETRONAS Durance car care products further strengthens the long standing MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team partnership.

PETRONAS has so far formulated over 200 fuel blends which have been tested and evaluated by the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One, and 20 of those blends have been used on the track. Meanwhile, over 50 engine, transmission and hydraulic lubricants have also been developed. The success of this partnership is evident with the team winning the World Constructors Championship for three consecutive years since 2014.

PETRONAS Durance products are widely available across Europe, and PETRONAS is expanding its distribution channels to make them more accessible to the public.
